Varudu Kaavalenu Movie Review Routine Drama With Wafer-Thin Plot
The film comes from a production house that has made quality films like “Jersey” has raised expectations. A lot of factors have helped in generating curiosity. A woman director helming this rom-com is one of the reasons it has created a good buzz. Before the two hit the common ground, the story is punctuated by one too many songs and comic episodes at a wedding. The production design and cinematography are aesthetic but the film gets boring and never recovers. Also, there is not much story in the film and the second half is a proof.
He also looked stylish and handsome but at times looked jaded and dull. Ritu Varma performed well in the role of an authoritarian girl and she also reasoned it out well with powerful dialogue. In the second half, she transforms surprisingly all as a jovial girl but only for a few minutes. Naga Shaurya is handsome and classy as the guy who finds love.
The corporate office setup for Bhoomi as owner, Vennela Kishore and others as employees it is familiar recipe for some entertainment. As Akash comes to Hyderabad and take up a project with Bhoomi’s company, the flirting starts. Within 30 minutes into the film, audience do take note of the impressive dialogues written by debutante writer Ganesh Ravuri. Debutante director Lakshmi Sowjanya scores well in making women audience feel connect to the scenes.
Saptagiri’s Lag comedy is hilarious for 15 minutes. Comedy scenes on Tiktok fanatic girls worked out a bit. Climax takes predictable path and ends on happy note. ‘Varudu Kavalenu’ is a simple story to start with and goes on lighter mode.
She gives it up learning that Akash had his focus on career and no time for love. These need special attention in writing and making. The second half is slow and flat, barring last 30 minutes which stands out aa highlight in the movie. The first half has interesting elements and good dialogues featuring Naga Shourya, Ritu Varma, Nadiya and Murali Sharma.
Will Aakash finally change her attitude and fulfil her mother’s marriage wish? Why did Aakash come in the first place is the movie’s primary storyline. Akash falls in love with Bhumi upon returning to India from Paris as a reputed architect. He seeks to work for her start-up in Hyderabad and woos her at every opportunity. Bhumi, for some reason, doesn’t engage in his flirtatious talks. This is when we realize that there is more to it than meets the eye.
In Varudu Kaavalenu, the hero does not have an ‘introduction’ shot, and neither do they delve into his life or his family’s, while significance is given to the female character. The film stars actors Ritu Varma, Naga Shaurya, Murali Sharma, Nadhiya, Vennela Kishore, Praveen, Harsha Vardhan, Sapthagiri and others. ‘Varudu Kavalenu’ is a very old tale but with interesting characterisations. However, there is nothing much left for the makers to fill the rest of the film. Debutante director Lakshmi Sowjanya’s work is impressive.
It’s an author-backed role for Ritu Varma and she carries her role beautifully with class. Nadhiya is good as a mother who keeps worrying about her daughter’s yellowstone music season 4 marriage. Murali Sharma has few dialogues and whenever he speaks it makes sense. Vennela Kishore is neat and only appears in the first half.
